(Fri, 01 Sep 2017) Hurricane Harvey, which first made landfall on August 25, 2017, has created considerable uncertainty for gasoline supply and prices, as the area affected by the hurricane is home to much of the nation's petroleum infrastructure. On August 28, the U.S. average retail gasoline price was $2.40 per gallon (gal), the second-lowest price on the Monday before Labor Day since 2004.
Seasonal swings in U.S. distillate inventories lower as consumption patterns change

Historically, distillate use in the United States was highly seasonal because of its use as a home heating fuel. However, over the past three decades, its use as a heating fuel has decreased, distallate fuel exports have increased, and its non-seasonal use as a transportation fuel has become the major demand component.
Release notes for Petroleum Supply Monthly (PSM) and Petroleum Supply Annual (PSA)
(Thu, 31 Aug 2017) The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) released the following new and revised data as well as data updated with hydrocarbon gas liquids (HGL) product categories on August 31, 2017.
PSM tables for June 2017 and PSA tables for 2016 in portable document format (PDF) and comma-separated-value (CSV) files are currently unavailable. Tables in PDF and CSV formats currently posted on the EIA web site contain PSM data for May 2017 and PSA data from 2015. Updated tables in PDF and CVS formats will be released at a later date.
